A drawing of the head of a youth, looking down to the left. This is a study for the head of an angel in Reni's Baptism of Christ, painted c.1622-23 for Giovanni Jacobs, the silversmith with whom Reni worked and who took it to Flanders in 1623 (Carlo Malvasia: 'un Battezzo di N. Sig. ch'andò in Fiandra in 1623, commessogli dall'Argentiere Jacobs, fondatore del Collegio di sua nazione in Bologna'). The painting passed into the collection of the 2nd Duke of Buckingham and was sold off in 1648; it is now in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna.
