A drawing of a woman seated, dividers in her upheld left hand, books and an inkwell below her right hand, a winged putto behind her head; indications of a landscape beyond. The drawing is a first study for Reni's etching (Bartsch 18, p. 289, no. 16), in which the pose of the woman is the same but the putto stands to the right.
