An offset of a full-length composition drawing, RCIN 902378: Veturia, the mother of Coriolanus, and Volumnia, his wife, kneel before him. He stands on the right, in profile to the left, and lets his sword fall from his left hand; in the background are indications of soldiers amongst tents. The drawing from which this coarsely retouched offset derives is a study for the painting of Veturia and Volumnia beseeching Coriolanus to spare Rome, in the Musée des Beaux-Arts at Caen.
