A drawing of an elderly man, standing half length. He appears to lean against a wall on the right. He is half turned to the left and his arms are folded on his chest.
Provenance
Bequeathed by the artist to Benedetto and Cesare Gennari; from whose descendants purchased by Richard Dalton for George III, c.1758-63; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1800-1820 (Inv.A, p.68: one of a group of 42 drawings; 'mostly Heads, and some few half length single Figures'. This group comprises RCIN 902921 to 902962 inclusive.)
