A drawing of two amorini; one, in flight, carries a bow in his left hand and draws an arrow with his right hand from a quiver on his back; the other, winged and in the bottom right corner, looks out from behind a tree-trunk and points to the right with his right hand. A study for the fresco of Aurora in the Casino Ludovisi, Rome.

Bequeathed by the artist to Benedetto and Cesare Gennari; from whose descendants purchased by Richard Dalton for George III, c.1758-63; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1800-1820 (Inv.A, p.63)
