A drawing of a guardian angel, standing three-quarter length on the right, full face and with his right hand behind the back of a child, who kneels on the left and looks upwards with his hands joined in prayer. This drawing, along RCIN 902685 and 902549, may be connected with the altarpiece in the Museo Civico Malatestiano, Fano. RCIN 902549 and 902577 appear to have been done by the same school hand.
Provenance
Bequeathed by the artist to Benedetto and Cesare Gennari; from whose descendants purchased by Richard Dalton for George III, c.1758-63; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1800-1820 (Inv.A, p.63: 'The Guardian Angel')
