A drawing of a man standing on a ladder which is propped against a post; probably intended as a study for a Descent from the Cross. Formerly placed within the Carracci volumes.
Provenance
Probably acquired by George III in 1762 as part of the collection of Cardinal Alessandro Albani; first recorded in a Royal Collection inventory of c.1810 (Inv. A, p. 75: among 'Various Studies for different compositions mostly drawn with Black Chalk')
