Circular empty frame of red guilloché enamel and rose diamonds with red and green gold mounts of swags, surmounted by a bow and quiver of arrows, all supported on a nephrite column with gold gadrooned stem chased with laurel and circular gold mounted base. Frame is backed with mother-of-pearl.
Fabergé’s range of frames included a number surmounted on pedestals or columns. There are two other examples in the Royal Collection. This frame was a birthday present to Queen Mary from Queen Elizabeth in 1946.
