A drawing of a nude man, half length, doubled up with his shoulders and back towards the viewer. He protects his head with his left hand. This is a study for the lower of the two male nudes representing Luther and Calvin in the right foreground of the fresco, The Virgin intercedes with Christ on behalf of the City of Naples, one of the frescoes in the pendentives in the Cappella del Tesoro in the Duomo, Naples. Domenichino painted four frescoes in the pendentives of the Cappella del Tesoro, in the Duomo in Naples. To the left of the entrance: The Virgin intercedes with Christ on behalf of the city of Naples. To the right of the entrance: San Gennaro intercedes with Christ on behalf of the city of Naples. On the left of the high altar: S. Gennaro is recieved by Christ. On the right of the high altar: S. Gennaro as Protector of the city of Naples.
