A print reproducing the heads of the bearded man with covered head and of the child on the extreme left of Raphael's School of Athens, painted in c.1509-10 in the Stanza della Segnatura in the Vatican. Lettered along the lower margin. Numbered at top left: 14. With watermark: 'Pietro Miliani Fabriano' (see Robison, Piranesi. Early Architectural Fantasies, 1986, no.76, no.232), and countermark: double-encircled fleur de lys (see Robison 43). The bearded figure is identified on the print as the Greek philosopher Epicharmus of Cos.
