-
A print after a painting now in the Musée du Louvre, Paris (inv. no.657). Not listed in Ruland's Raphael Collection catalogue (1876).
The painting, which is attributed on plate to Raphael but is now generally ascribed to Giulio Romano, is the cover of the so-called Small Holy Family, a work also in the Louvre (inv. no.605) attributed to the workshop of Raphael. The figure has been interpreted either as Abundance or Ceres (see S. Béguin, in Raphael dans les collections françaises 1983, no.15). A photograph of the Small Holy Family at RCIN 851054.Provenance
Added to the Prince Consort's Raphael Collection (after 1876)
