A photograph of a painting, the composition of which is known as the Santa Chiara Madonna. The design - possibly derived from an original by Pinturicchio - is known in several existing versions. The photographed painting was formerly believed to be by Raphael, and was later ascribed by Passavant to Andrea di Aloigi, called l'Ingegno. The painting was once in the Convent of Santa Chiara in Urbino, and passed subsequently into the possession of Mr Hooker, an American banker active in Rome. The painting is said to have been purchased in Rome and placed in the Fogg Museum in 1900. Not listed in Ruland's Raphael Collection catalogue (1876).
