A print reproducing (in reverse) the so-called Holy Family of Francis I, a painting attributed to Raphael and his workshop (1518) now in the Musée du Louvre, Paris (inv. no.604). The lettering on the print indicates that the painting was then in the Cabinet du Roy, France. Second state. Lettered with production details and titles.
Showing the full-length seated Virgin supporting the Christ Child stepping out of His cradle; with St Joseph behind her on the left, and the crouched St Elizabeth supporting the Young John the Baptist who clasps his hands in adoration on the right; behind them an angel crowning the Virgin with flowers and a young woman with hands crossed on her chest; in an interior with view of landscape.Provenance
