A print after the so-called Madonna of the Candelabra, a circular painting now in the Walters Art Museum, Baltimore (inv. no.37.484), the attribution of which is still disputed. Lettered with the title and production details.
The execution of the painting is generally ascribed to the workshop of Raphael, with the master’s role in the invention of the composition being questioned. Ruland (1876) attributed the painting to Raphael and catalogued it as being then in the possession of the late Mr Hugh Andres Johnstone Munro of Novar (Scotland).
