An engraving after the Alba Madonna by Raphael (c.1509-11) now in the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC (inv. no.1937.1.24). Lettered with the title and production details. According to the legend below the image, the painting was once in the possession of the Duke of Alba in Madrid, and was in the collection of W.G. Coesvelt in London when this print was made. In Ruland's Raphael Collection catalogue (1876), the painting was described as being then the Imperial Gallery of the Hermitage, St Petersburg.
