An engraving after the so-called Madonna of the Meadow, a painting by Raphael (1505-1506) now in the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna (inv. no.GG175). As indicated by the inscription below the image, the painting was at the time of the print in the Imperial Gallery of the Belvedere, Vienna. Lettered with title and production details.
Showing the full length seated Virgin supporting with both hands the standing Christ Child who reached for the cross-staff held by the Infant Baptist, who keels down before Him; in a hilly landscape.Provenance
