Match holder, rectangular brick shape with two compartments bordered by plain silver mount and a centrally applied silver putto kneeling with arms raised.
Julius Rappoport (1864-1916), who made this match holder specialised in silver-mounted objects. His putto mount elevates the brick from a mundane to a sophisticated object. A similar silver-mounted brick match holder was formerly in the Forbes Collection.
