Description

An engraving after Michelangelo's 'presentation drawing', made as a gift for Tommaso de' Cavalieri (RCIN 912771). The group of Tityus and the vulture on their rocky platform are placed before a ruined temple. This is a copy in reverse of Beatrizet's engraving Bartsch 39 (RCIN 830379), with the same Latin inscription, but with no publisher's address or name of artist.
