    Leopold I, King of the Belgians was married to Charlotte, Princess of Wales, then heir to the British throne, until her death in 1817. Leopold was King of the Belgians from 1831-65 and uncle to Queen Victoria. Leopold I visited England with his wife and son from 23 June to 31 July 1841. During this visit Leopold I completed a number of etchings while staying at Buckingham Palace (see RCINs 816332, 816415, and 816800), this print dates from this visit.
