A hand-coloured print of a sailor or 'Tar' dancing side by side with a young woman wearing a pink dress and feathered cap. On the right are seated two other sailors, one of whom is seated on a cannon and smoking, watching the proceedings. A fiddler stands on the left providing the music. Three pairs of couples are embracing and kissing. Inscribed in the plate: Publish'd January 20th 1818 by Thos Tegg No 111 Cheapside / Rowlandson Del
