A hand-coloured print of Charles Maurice de Talleyrand offering to 'crack the crown' of Napoleon as he raises his right foot to Napoleon to kick him. In his hand he holds a piece of paper on which is written the 'Abdication or Last dying speech of a murderer'. Napoleon stoops pathetically as he holds his cockaded hat in his right hand. Behind him stands a gibbet marked 'To the Isle of Elba'. Wounded French soldiers together with a single British Tar advance towards Napoleon with the intention of beating him. Inscribed in the plate: Pubd 17 April 1814 by R Ackermann No 101 Strand
