A hand-coloured print of a wedding reception where couples dance together. Prominent amongst them is a man wearing a blue jacket and an ill-fitting wig who dances with a young woman. The dancer's hands are held high in the air. On the right, a fiddler is seated playing and behind him, a couple who are partially obscured by drapes, kiss. A plaque on the wall reads: 'They dance in a round, cutting capers and ramping, A mercy the ground, Did not burst with their stamping, the floor is all wett, with leaps and with jumps, While the water and sweat, splish splash in their pumps.'
