An uncoloured print with an extract from the book 'The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling' by Henry Fielding. A scene set inside a bedroom with Jones on bended knee in front of Lady Bellaston as he tries to make ammends during a mis-understanding between them. Benjamin Partridge interrupts the proceedings by dancing into the room, overjoyed to have located Lady Bellaston. Inscribed in the plate: B.3 p.62. / Rowlandson invt et fect. / Partridge interrupts Tom Jones in his protestations to Lady Bellaston
