An uncoloured print of two naval commanders sitting in the Captain's cabin of a ship and playing spike and ball rather than studying plans for war. Under their feet are the battle plans and a pile of money used for betting. In the background, a sailor who is un-amused, pours out coffee for the two. Inscribed in the plate: T_Rowlandson 1785 / London Published Novr 30th 1785 by J:R Smith No 83.-Oxford Street
