An uncoloured print featuring a design for a coat of arms for Sir James Lowther, Earl of Lonsdale. The Earl was elevated to the rank of Earl by Pitt for his support. The shield is flanked by 2 ragged Volunteers with initials W.M. on cross-belts. The man on the right appears increasingly destitute. In the shield are 6 quarterings, each with scrolls of statements. Below is the motto of 'Who Doubts It'. Inscribed in the plate: May 11th 1784
