An uncoloured print print of William Pitt being drawn along in a chariot to Grocer's Hall to receive the Freedom of the City. Banners with his mottos are waved by the crowd. In another carriage rides the alderman Sir Watkin Lewes (or 'Sir Wattey') and ahead of him, John Wilkes distributes coins to the crowd, some of whom scramble at his feet. Behind Pitt rides the alderman Sir Barnard Turner (or 'Sir Barney') in his chariot. Uncoloured impression of RCIN 810040. Inscribed in the plate: Pub March 8th by W Humphrey No 227 Strand 1784
