Wenceslaus Hollar (1607-77)

Description

On the left a covered barge, with leeboards, under spritsail and foresail, sails to the right flying the Amsterdam flag. Three sailors stand in the bows while a fourth relieves himself in the sea. Three similar barges on the opposite tack in the centre, with a three-masted ship between.
