An etched map of the Battle of Kilrush, which was fought in April 1642 at the beginning of the Eleven Year's War in Ireland between a Royalist Army (led by the Earl of Ormonde) and Confederate Irish troops. The map shows a bird's eyeview of two low hills surrounded by bogs, on which are drawn up rebels. Inscription on the left, and one on the right. Ormonde's army is drawn up in squares beneath, with reference numbers listed in the upper right corner. Hollar's map is reproduced on p.89 of Vol.1 of 'History of the Irish Confederation and the War in Ireland 1641-1643', edited by John. T. Gilbert, Dublin (1882).
