A print showing the battlefield at Waterloo, looking towards La Belle Alliance (2) and Hougoumont (3) from the east. This view, taken just over a month after the battle, shows the uneven nature of the ground, which allowed Wellington to shield his infantry from French artillery fire. The site was a draw for tourists almost immediately after the battle.
