  • An order of battle of the Allied army at Viller camp near Namur on 5 August 1746. War of the Austrian Succession (1740-48).

    The draughtsman of this order of battle, John Anderson, was a serjeant in Lord George Beauclerk's Regiment of Foot, which was the 19th, subsequently the Green Howards and Alexandra, Princess of Wales's Own Yorkshire Regiment. Lieutenant-General Lord George Beauclerk was the colonel of the regiment from 15 March 1748 to 25 May 1768. (Leslie 1974, p.61.)

    The order of battle is in three lines with the artillery placed between the second and third lines. The regimental rectangles are coloured according to the coat colours.     The General Officers of the Second Line are General Gaisruck; Lieutenant-Generals Aylva, La Lippe, Mansbach, Grüne, Pyzykousky; Major-Generals Hompesch, Cannenburg, Villates, Glinstra, Klinckowstrom, Howard, Wied, Uivary, Sincere, Prince Durlach, Montigni, Comte d'Yssenburg, Craufurd, Walbrun, Bournonvile; Brigadiers Schlippenbach, Vrybergen, Burmania, Hiemstra, Borch, Sporcken, Douglas, Adelepsen.

    The General Officers of the Third Line are General the Prince of Wolffenbuttel; Lieutenant-Generals Trips, Philibert, Kollowrath, Barronyai; Major-Generals Moroz, Spada, Bourghausen, Haller, D'Arberg, Gemingen, Bentheim, Prince of Esterhazy. Baron Trenck is in the rear with Trencks Pandours.
