  • An etching of the house of the Earl of Burlington at Chiswick, seen from the road. Lettered below in English and French with the title and publication line 'Sold by T. Bowles in St Paul's Churchyard, John Bowles & Son, at the Black Horse in Cornhill, Robert Sayer at the Golden Buck in Fleet Street & John Ryall at Hogarth's Head in Fleet Street'. Chiswick House was rebuilt in the Palladian style to the designs of William Kent for Lord Burlington between 1726-9. The print is one of a set of six views of the gardens at Chiswick House first issued by John Tinney in 1753. The set was reissued in about 1760-66, possibly by William Woollett after the designs of John Donowell.
