Circlet (aqwədama) or crown of gilt metal engraved with a foliate pattern; three crosses are fixed to upper edge and numerous chains are suspended from the lower edge, with a round disc at either side. Lined with purple velvet.
A circlet of this kind would have been awarded to an Abyssinian warrior who had killed foreign foes.Provenance
