A silver-mounted gourd with a plain, curved silver handle. It has a small spout/ hole at one end and it stands on four short round silver feet. A silver inscription plaque on the side records the provenance. Haridwar is one of the seven most holy places in India, the Hindu Brahmin Pandits, also known as Pandas, keep the genealogies of Hindu families in hand written registers passed down to them over generations.
