A plain wooden boomerang with a white metal plaque engraved with an inscription.
Provenance
Presented to Prince George, Duke of York in March 1927 by the Trustees of the Australian Museum, Rose Hall Red Cross Hostel, Sydney. The Duke and Duchess of York (later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth) were undertaking an extensive tour of the country.
According to Australian Museum records, the boomerang is associated with the indigenous peoples of the Macquarie River area, New South Wales. -
