Horse's armour. Shaped and ridged brass shaffron with tear-shaped brass boss towards top, side pieces of leather and textile studded with gilt brass pins in floral pattern, four short and one long (partly domed) rectangular brass plates, applied and bordered with cotton tape.
Provenance
Presented to George III by Major Henry Davis, 10 October 1800, with an Indian saddle (RCIN 67231) and trappings (RCIN 67232). Recorded in the North Corridor Inventory of Windsor Castle with the note 'Part of Trappings of Tipoo Saib's [Tipu, Sultan of Mysore's] War Horse'. -
