    Provenance

This quiver was a trophy from the Battle of Seringapatam on 4 May 1799, the culmination of a campaign against Tipu Sultan of Mysore (1750-99) in Southern India. It was presented to George III by Richard, Earl of Mornington, Governor General of India, on 2 April 1800.
