The Hilt of Ivory,with chased gilt mounts, A.E. surmounted by a crown in silver on one side, and Prince of Wales Feathers on the other. With burnished steel scabbard, the mounts having The Prince of Wales Feathers on one side and the Star of India on the other.
Provenance
This sword was made for King Edward VII, when Prince of Wales, for his tour of India in 1875-76, and given to King George VI on 14th December 1937 as a birthday present, by the Earl and Countess of Pembroke.
