Pair of flintlock pistols (tacks); steel barrel, engraved and inlaid with gold; blued steel stock, pommel of two scrolls with flowerheads, pricker with crown finial; whole inlaid with gold and silver decoration: thistle with crossed swords, national emblems, lion's head, cornucopia and Highlander.
Provenance
Presented to the Prince of Wales on 13 May 1800 by Sir John Sinclair, Colonel of the Rothsay and Caithness Fencibles, on behalf of the officers 'as a testimony of their humble but, unfeign'd affection'.
