Mezzotint of Charles James Fox. Whole length with short hair, plain tie, jacket, and breeches. Standing with right arm at side and left holding a group of papers, resting on a writing desk. With large volumes and portfolios at his feet to the right, and with columns and drapery behind. With English inscription below including publisher's address, 'Published by S. W. Reynolds 47 Poland Street, London, 1806.' Proof with open letters.
Charles James Fox was a Whig Politian and a prominent figure in British politics from the 1770's until his death in 1806. During his long political career, Fox served as the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and as the Leader of the House of Commons. -
