A pair of gold, enamelled and pearl-set earrings made from buttons from George III's dress coat. Each circular button with two concentric and diminishing rows of pearls, and a central pearl surrounded by small pearls, on a blue enamelled ground.
Provenance
Given by George III to Queen Adelaide, then bequeathed to Grandduchess of Mecklenburg-Strelitz in 1849, and by her to Queen Mary in 1916.
