Circular onyx locket in the form of a ball set with a line of diamonds in the form of a coiled serpent. On back a gold circular plaque engraved with coronet over M monogram. Black enamelled suspension ring. Contains hair of Mary, Duchess of Gloucester, daughter of George III.
Provenance
Formerly in the collection of Queen Victoria. Came into posession of HRH Mary, Princess of Wales (later Queen Mary) after the death of Queen Victoria in 1901.
