Bust of a young woman, in profile to the right. She wears a fillet in her curly hair and ringlets fall from the nape of her neck onto her shoulders. Her low-cut tunic is belted under the breast and a mantle falls over her left shoulder.
The cameo is probably based on a medal. The hairstyle recalls medals representing Vittoria Colonna (1490-1547), noblewoman, poetess and confidante of Michelangelo.
