Cameo with a bust of the warrior and hero, Hercules, in profile to the left. He wears the lion skin over his head with one of the paws draped over his shoulder.
The type is often repeated in Renaissance gems and is ultimately derived from ancient prototypes and Roman gems. However, the use of coarse flint for this cameo suggests a 17th century date.
