Cameo of Jupiter, patron deity of the Roman state, astride the eagle in the clouds, seen frontally. He is surrounded by fluttering drapery and has thunderbolts in his left hand.
The reverse of the stone has been painted to darken the ground. The use of this black-painted backing indicates an 18th century date.
