Engraving of Egbert, King of the West Saxons. Bust length in profile left with crown, braided hair, armour, and mantle. Within an oval border of leaves on a pedestal with two swords below. With title on pedestal and with coat of arms and English inscription below, including a dedication from James Mechell to John Moyne Lewis, Esq. Cut down. A plate from James Mechell's edition of Paul de Rapin-Thoyras' History of England (1732-33). For another impression see RCIN 600003.
