A Malaysian kris with a brown wood carved handle in the form of a stylised bird, with a pierced gold ferrule. The double-edged watered steel blade with gold scrolling foliage at the top in relief. Brown wood sheath partly encased in gold metal, fluted on one side.
Provenance
Presented to George IV when Prince Regent by Sir Evan Nepean on 26 October 1819 - one of six kris presented by Nepean on that date. Recorded in the Armoury at Carlton House and later displayed in the North Corridor at Windsor Castle.
