Indonesian[?] kris; the hilt of carved ivory in the shape of a kingfisher(?), the top of the blade and ferrule of gilt and set with diamonds; the double-edged steel blade watered in low relief; the wooden sheath encased in rose gold.
Provenance
Presented to George IV when Prince Regent by Sir Evan Nepean on 26 October 1819 - one of six kris presented by Nepean on that date. Recorded in the Armoury at Carlton House (CH AA 2391) and later in the North Corridor at Windsor Castle (WC Nrth Corr 530).
