Engraving with etching of Mary, Queen of Scots and James VI King of Scotland, (James I of Great Britain). Whole length figures, the Queen with hair under a lace cap, closed ruff, gown with high collar, lace cuffs, and mantle, standing holding a book in left hand and with her right placed on the head of her son. To the left, James VI is pictured standing with bare head, embroidered gown, and holding a rose in left hand and a wide brimmed hat in the right. Working proof with the figures in outline only.
