Engraving of Napoléon I, Emperor of the French. Whole length with short hair, laurel wreath, lace tie, and ermine robes. The Emperor Napoléon is shown standing beside a throne under an embroidered canopy, holding a sceptre in right hand with the sceptre of the hand of justice and an orb to the left. Within a decorative border with title below.
Napoléon personally chose Auguste Gaspard Louis Desnoyers to engrave his portrait after François Gérard's portrait of the Emperor.Provenance
