Engraving of Henri IV, King of France and Navarre. Bust length with short hair, crowned with a laurel wreath, beard, closed ruff, armour and sash. Within an oval border surrounded by allegorical designs, with Latin motto and monograms above, and with ornaments of war and palm leaves below. Cut down, with printed text on the verso : Aux Plus Riches Thresors De La Grande Fontaine D'une Fidele Main Ce Baeu Sentier Vous Mene.
This portrait is attributed to Thomas de Leu, and may have been published as an illustration to Jean de Serres' Inventaire General de l'Histoire de France (1597). -
